ZSL – Whipsnade

The Connolly Foundation is supporting an exciting initiative at the Zoological Society London (ZSL) Whipsnade.

ZSL’s Education and Outreach programme provides young people from Dunstable and Houghton Regis with a wide range of learning opportunities and enables them to develop key career skills.

Part of this programme is Zoo Academy a practical, hands-on five-day course designed for young people (ages 15-17) who wish to become vets, vet nurses, or zookeepers, or pursue other animal science-related careers and studies.  Students build their knowledge in areas such as nutrition, training and breeding programmes while gaining more than 15 hours of practical experience.  So far more than 24 local young people have taken part in the Academy.
