The Connolly Foundation is proud to have contributed more than £750,000 to the state-of-the-art Centre of Modern Construction (CMC) building at Bedford College. The funding will has enabled the college to buy the very latest construction equipment for students.
The centre allows access to skilled jobs from apprentices to degree-level roles.
Declared open by Mark Farmer, the Government’s champion of Modern Methods of Construction, the CMC contains some highly specialised equipment on which up to 100 will train for jobs, or upgrade their existing skills to match up to emerging ‘modern methods of construction’.
Vanessa Connolly a trustee of The Connolly Foundation, said: “We are delighted to have contributed towards this excellent new facility for the college. The Connolly Foundation is committed to supporting young people to achieve their potential through education and training and this will be a fantastic asset for all who work and study in it.”
